Thermal imaging survey of switchboards provides the business with an important tool to establish a low risk environment and effective fire reduction strategies. Insurance companies are progressively including thermal imaging as an essential requirement for commercial premises fire risk assessment.
This inspection not only reduces the risk of a serious electrical incident, but also helps improve system performance. Excess heat in electrical systems is a serious warning sign, and detecting these issues before they become problems is only possible with a thermal camera.

- THERMAL IMAGING TESTING
Annual thermal imaging testing on your switchboard determines your electrical system’s temperature and condition, reducing electrical incidents, breakdowns and fire. It reduces insurance premiums by determining environmental risks and how to improve system performance. It’s non-invasive, can be done any time and doesn’t require system downtime. This test might be required for a commercial premise’s fire risk assessment. Starting with periodic fixed wire testing, we will ensure that your earth protection, fuses and circuit breakers operate properly under short circuit/fault load conditions. As these devices can’t protect against poor connection risks, thermal imaging testing should be done to ensure poor connections aren’t present, using a thermal camera and electrical thermograph to detect excess heat.
